Tasting notes

A serious and intriguing wine, this Pinot Noir Reserve is another bold success from talented oenologist Nikolay Krastev. Balancing ripe red-berry aromas with fine tannins and a subtle rooty character, it delivers a long, savory finish.

Though the Danube Plain produces some of Bulgaria’s best grape, few winemakers have gained recognition, making this Reserve wine an exceptional find. With names like Tsarev Brod gaining popularity, this hidden gem, made from organically grown grapes, is an opportunity to enjoy a top-quality wine at a accessible price.

Wine specs

Winemaker notes

A wine with a deep ruby colour. The aroma is one of dried red fruit, chocolate and spices. Medium-bodied, with a mild spicy finish.

The grapes used for the wine are harvested in late September from our own vineyards near the town of Shumen. The wine ferments with wild yeast in open, wide vessels of 1000 l, and matures on the lees. Then it ages for 24 months in old French barrels, before being bottled.
