About the Wine

“It’s more about the place than the grape”. It’s a refreshingly delicate dry wine with hints of citrus and salty finish.

Prisoe produces wines with tremendous character tempered by the Black see breezes and calcareous soils that offer mineral notes and pronounced acidity. From a cold year, that freshness seems to underscore all of that mineral character and all of that powerful acidity as well as that saline side that’s clearly shown here. This is a case of the place putting its stamp on a wine that’s like an arrow.

Тhe vineyards are located near the Pobiti Kamani area, not far from Varna. Тhis vineyard boasts some of the most impressive Chardonnays from the Black Sea coast, rivalling some of the greats. This cool climate Chardonnay is what a Chardonnay should taste like, fresh fruit, mouth-watering acidity, fine balance and a strong salty finish.

Winemaker notes

The light minerality in the aroma is strongly expressed in the taste and is complemented by a pleasant palate caressing creaminess, hazelnut notes and the exoticism of mango, papaya and passion fruit. The taste is very fresh with balancing notes of sweet citrus – sweet orange juice, sweet vanilla, white chocolate and fleshy medlar. Floral and herbal notes are also present in the taste, with St. John’s wort leading the way, followed by linden and lavender.
An excellent wine, possessing exceptional character and demonstrating a very high level of complexity.
