About the Wine

This complex yet elegant 3-Blend red has a deep garnet hue with a vibrant ruby edge. Velvety on the palate, it offers black cherry, plum, tobacco, oak, chocolate, and cocoa flavors with hints of vanilla. Aged 37 months in oak, the unfiltered blend of Cabernet Franc, Rubin, and Merlot has great depth, with Rubin lifting the aromatics and softening the palate. Noble sediment may occur.

One of my favorite red wines from the Sacar mountain, produced with hand-harvested, organically farmed grapes.

SUITABLE FOOD

Food pairing

lightly-spiced red meats, roast veal, rack of lamb, filet mignon

chargrilled prosciutto-wrapped dates with goat cheese, matured cheese

 Cheesy “Juicy-Lucy” burger

Winemaker notes

This 3-Blend red is an “answer” from Sakar to the classic “Bordeaux blend”, in which the “spice” from Petit Verdot is replaced by the local variety Rubin. In the 2019 vintage, they changed the proportion of varieties, with Merlot now predominating at 65%, Cabernet Franc participating at 25% and Rubin increased to 10%. Deep tile color with a ruby hue. A complex nose with deep notes of musk, nutty noise, nuances of ripe black cherry, gently complemented by an aroma of dark chocolate. Juicy and rich body with ripe, velvety tannins ending in a long and noble finish with hints of tobacco and leather.

Wild fermented, aged 3 years in 63 different oak barrels, 1 year in bottle as of March 2024.
